Description: Understanding patients’ perspectives about health and healthcare delivery enhances our
understanding on how they communicate in health situations, why they interact as they do, and what
motivates them to act on health messages. This assignment requires you to describe and analyze a patient’s
blog to gain there perspective.
Step 1: Select a blog authored by a patient from the list below. (I skimmed and they appear useful). Just click
on the link to be directed the blog.

those blogs and concepts and topics covered in the text. You may have to search more than 5 blog
posts to find ones that you can write about.
✓ Read the blog entries, take notes on the blogs as they relate to specific course concepts, and include
citations in your notes so that you can include proper in-text citations in your written paper.
✓ You can simply copy the link to the blog entry to include in your written paper so that your instructor
can easily link to the blog entry that you are reviewing for evaluation purposes.
✓ Please use quotation marks around any information that you take directly from the blog post or that
you take directly from the text. Use quotes sparingly.
✓ When possible, please paraphrase definitions and content from the text, rather than using direct
quotes. Paraphrasing is a skill that we are practicing in this assignment. Please always include proper
in-text citations for all content that you take from sources.

each concept

Non-Content Requirements
✓ Standard-essay style, however you do not need to have an introduction or conclusion. Instead use the
bolded headings listed in Step 3 to organize your paper.
✓ Typed, double spaced, 12-point, font, 1-inch margins.
✓ Use the name of the Blog as your title (neither a cover page nor abstract is needed).

lengths requirements.
✓ Use mechanics of good writing: proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar. Proofread your work for typos,
etc. Your content should be well organized. Do not submit a paper with sections that only contain one
paragraph. Instead, adopt an efficient and effective organizational style that presents your content to the
reader in a coherent and cohesive organizational style.
✓ Include in-text citations to reference your sources of information (i.e., the textbook for concept definitions,
and the blog pages for examples from the blogs).
✓ At the end of your paper include a list of the titles of the 5 blog entries that you analyzed for this paper
and page links for those entries so I can easily access them for evaluation purposes.
