I need to write a research paper about how socioeconomic backgrounds affect students’ access to quality education and educational outcomes. The paper is supposed to be an “objective research paper,” meaning that the paper should cover both sides of the argument with facts and not biases. In the previous stages, I’ve gathered some credible sources for this paper and copied/pasted some of the highlights from each source on a google doc (research paper stage 1). In research paper stage 2, I wrote my thesis that answers my research question but you can edit my thesis or even write a better thesis for the paper if you’d like. I’ve also attached a rubric for this paper. Please write me a good-quality paper because it is worth 1/3 of my semester grade! Once you upload the first draft, I will quickly go through it and get feedback from my mentor and send it to you so that you can revise the paper one more time…
Research Paper Stage 3
Now that you have your sources and outline put together, it’s time to start writing! For this stage, you will write and revise your rough draft.
Write your rough draft
To write your rough draft, use the outline you made in the previous stage and expand upon the points using evidence from your sources as supports. Remember that this is an objective research paper, so you should cover both sides of the argument with facts and not biases. This paper needs to follow all the rules of MLA style. Use this Guide to Formatting a Research Paper in MLA style and this Sample MLA Paper to help you.
This assignment has no length recommendation, so write as much as you need to cover the topic appropriately.
(But I expect the paper to be 7-12 pages long)..
Revise your rough draft
After you have written your rough draft, you need to review and revise. Be sure to revise the paper yourself, but also have an adult (or another person who can write at a higher level than you) review your paper as well.
For this assignment, you will submit your original rough draft, as well as your revised rough draft. The revised rough draft should not be a final draft, but it should be a copy of the rough draft with all the marks and edits you (and others, if you had a peer or adult review) have made.
